Shirt of the Month // May

$30.00

Ordered a few extra! Once they're gone, we will not be reordering.

Significance:

Every month we create a limited, exclusive tee. These shirts are tied to a unique charity that is not one of our regular charity partnerships. The shirt is only available for purchase for one week and may not show up on our storefront after the purchasing period is up.

Impact:

I haven't really felt myself this year. And I'm okay with that. I'm constantly learning and growing and maturing as I get older. But what I am not okay with is settling. And recently, I have caught myself falling into that trap. Because often settling is just flat out easier and when life gets hard (as it has a tendency to do) we seek easy. But I woke up yesterday with a single message in my head... "never settle". So I won't.

I was recently introduced to the "Trash Mountain Project" and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. Trash Mountain Project was founded to give hope and a future to those living in trash dump communities. What's a trash dump community? It's exactly what it sounds like... thousands of people living on and around massive trash dumps. These are forgotten people. No schools, no work, no healthcare. They survive off of the trash that they live on. I've seen these communities in person. When I was in Kenya, we were told we should not go into these areas. The risk and danger of violence was too great. But I'll never forget the sight. And looking back, I wish that I wouldn't of settled for my own comfort and safety. We always have a choice.

This is why I am so happy to partner with Trash Mountain Project for our charity of the month. Trash Mountain Project has dedicated their lives to helping these communities. Not only do they go in and offer much needed food and health services, but they put in place infrastructure, education, and work opportunities to help entire families out of poverty. The goal is not just to put a bandaid over a much bigger problem, but instead to offer lifelong solutions. Talk about not settling for the easy road. With each "Never Settle" tee that we sell, we are donating 25% of the proceeds to this mission.
